How to Buy Crypto in Singapore for Casino Deposits

Once your exchange account and wallet are set up, the next step is to buy crypto in Singapore and move it somewhere a casino can use it. This fourth post in our crypto casino series covers which coin to buy, how to fund the purchase in Singapore dollars, what the fees look like, and how to withdraw the coins to your own wallet without losing them to a wrong-network mistake. If you have not opened an account yet, start with how to create a crypto account in Singapore.

Which Coin Should You Buy for Casino Play?

USDT (Tether): the default

USDT is a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, so one USDT stays worth roughly one US dollar while you play. Every Singapore-facing casino we re-checked on 9 September 2026 that took crypto accepted USDT, and most run their crypto bonuses on it: EU9 and Hfive5 pay 3% USDT cashback, Solarbet runs a 100% USDT first-deposit bonus, and Yes8 offers a weekly crypto deposit bonus of up to SGD 888. Buy USDT unless you have a reason not to.

Bitcoin (BTC)

Accepted almost everywhere, including BK8, B9 and God55, but it moves in price and its transfers are slower and dearer. Fine if you already hold it; not the coin to buy specially for gambling.

Ethereum (ETH) and others

ETH is widely accepted and fast, but network fees can spike. Some casinos also list USDC, BNB or Litecoin. Check the casino’s deposit page first and buy only what it lists.

Step 1: Fund Your Exchange Account in SGD

Open the cashier in your licensed exchange and choose an SGD deposit. Bank transfer by FAST and PayNow are the common options and usually arrive within minutes. Debit cards work at some exchanges, with a fee. Locally issued credit cards are not allowed for crypto purchases under MAS retail rules that took effect in 2024, so do not waste time trying.

Step 2: Place the Order

Find the trading pair, for example USDT/SGD, and choose “buy”. Beginners should use a market order, which fills at the current price, or the exchange’s simple “convert” button. Enter the SGD amount you want to spend. A typical fee is 0.1% to 1% on the trade plus a spread built into the price, so SGD 300 buys slightly less than the headline rate suggests. The coins appear in your exchange balance immediately.

Step 3: Withdraw to Your Own Wallet

This is the step that costs people money when they rush it. In the exchange, choose “withdraw”, select the coin, then select the network. For USDT you will usually see TRC20, ERC20 and possibly BEP20. Pick the network your wallet and your casino both support; for most Singapore players that is TRC20. Paste your wallet’s receiving address for that same network, double-check the first and last four characters, and send a small test amount the first time.

  • TRC20 (Tron): fee around one USDT, arrives in one to three minutes. The best choice for casino deposits.
  • ERC20 (Ethereum): fee of several dollars depending on congestion, arrives in a few minutes.
  • BEP20 (BNB Chain): low fee, fast, but fewer casinos list it.

Coins sent on a network the receiving wallet does not support are usually gone for good. If in doubt, ask the casino’s live chat which network it wants before you withdraw from the exchange.

How Much Should You Buy?

Buy what you intend to deposit plus a little for fees. Casino minimums start at SGD 20 to SGD 50, and the crypto welcome bonuses have their own thresholds, for example SGD 30 at GemBet for its 298% offer. Do not buy more than you would be comfortable losing, and remember that MAS bars licensed exchanges from offering credit, margin or leverage to retail customers for good reason.

Fees at a Glance

  • Exchange trading fee: roughly 0.1% to 1%, plus spread.
  • Exchange withdrawal fee: often a flat amount per coin, for example around one USDT on Tron.
  • Network fee to the casino: the same again when you deposit from your wallet.
  • Casino conversion: some sites convert crypto to SGD at their own rate, so compare it with the market.

Tax and Record-Keeping

Singapore has no capital gains tax for individuals, and gambling winnings are not taxed. Keep records anyway: exchange statements and transaction hashes help if a casino disputes a deposit or your bank asks about a transfer. Once the coins are in your wallet, the last post in this series, how to top up and play at a crypto casino, covers the deposit, the bonus and the withdrawal back to your wallet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy crypto in Singapore with a credit card?

Not with a locally issued credit card. MAS rules in force since 2024 bar licensed exchanges from accepting them for retail purchases. Use a bank transfer, PayNow or a debit card where the exchange allows it.

Which is cheaper, USDT on Tron or Ethereum?

Tron (TRC20) is far cheaper, typically around one USDT per transfer, and settles in minutes. Ethereum (ERC20) fees rise sharply when the network is busy. Most casinos prefer TRC20 for that reason.

How much crypto do I need to claim a casino bonus?

It depends on the offer. GemBet’s 298% crypto slots bonus needs a SGD 30 deposit, most casinos set minimums of SGD 20 to SGD 50, and cashback offers such as EU9’s 3% USDT rebate have no minimum beyond the deposit floor.

What happens if I send coins on the wrong network?

In most cases the funds are lost. Always match the network on the exchange withdrawal screen to the network on the receiving wallet or casino deposit page, and send a small test first.
